The proposal regarding the establishment of THK University was discussed and accepted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on 17 February 2011 and became law. The relevant law was signed by our President, and came into force on March 3, 2011 with the publication of Law No. 6114 in the Official Gazette No. 27863. Adopting the duty of aviation sector inherited from Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk who said “The Future is in the Sky”, the Turkish Aeronautical Association University is aware of the responsibility imposed by being the first "specialized university of aviation and space" in Turkey, ıt started ıts education in 2011-2012 educational year in the central campus in Ankara.
Our university's Mechanical Engineering Department started its education program in 2011. Its score in the university entrance exams has increased every year, and considering the admission of full scholarship student , ıt received students with 17th highest entrance score in mechanical engineering departments in Turkey in 2015, and 4th highest university entrance score in Ankara. In 2016, first students started to graduate.
